1. At first the members rented a small room next to Jacob's Tobacconist Shop on the corner of High & Princes Streets. For overseas lecturers they hired the Choral Hall in Moray Place. 2.Later they rented a large room in John Reid's building, 5 Liverpool Street. Public lectures were held in the board room of His Majesty's Theatre. 3.In 1904, a theosophical Sunday School, named the Lotus Circle was opened to about 15 children. Later the Round Table was formed. 4.After a number of temporary rooms, a leasehold property at 17 Dowling Street was obtained. 5.When the rent went up dramatically they moved to their present abode at 236 High Street, which was freehold. 6.In 1920, Mr G. Richardson. whose father was Governor of the Otago Province, gave 2,000 volumes to form a library (ref. article in 'Evening Star'. Thursday 6th November 1975). 7.Members at one time included every one of the Pollard family. Mrs
A.J. Pollard served a term as President as did Cecilia Pollard for a period
of 11years. Rose Pollard was for many years a member of the executive
as Secretary and Treasurer. Mrs C.W. (Truda) Burrell, a sister of Rose
