2013 School of Theosophy, New Zealand

Theme: New Beginnings -- Exploring New Learning Experiences for the Dynamic Sharing of Theosophy

4-7 July 2013, Auckland

Providing new insights into the sharing of Theosophical knowledge to others. Theosophy members are all, ultimately, ‘students and teachers’. As teachers we are more likely to ‘guide’ rather than ‘teach’, providing opportunities to understand rather than delivering information. The 2013 School of Theosophy investigates new perspectives and approaches to the sharing of Theosophical knowledge.

National Convention 2014

Theme: Our Potential for Change...

16-22 January 2014, Auckland

We talk about change in our lives – and in the role of the Society – but have we a clear idea of what the change is? Do we really want to change and know what is involved, and the insights, tools and resources needed?

Celebrating 125 years of Theosophy in New Zealand

The first New Zealand branch of the Theosophical Society was chartered in 1888 in Wellington and was called the Wellington Lodge. The Theosophical Society in New Zealand Inc is celebrating 125 years from 1888-2013 with the Annual Convention being held in Wellington in January 2013. We can look forward to many events to commemorate this historical occasion throughout New Zealand.

Ideas takes a look at the philosophy and practice of theosophy: an unusual hybrid of Western and Eastern thought, which has had adherents in New Zealand -- including a former Prime Minister and an Attorney General -- since the earliest years of the Movement's history.

Chris Laidlaw and Jeremy Rose talk to Sushma and Simon Webber of the Wellington branch of the Theosophical Society (TS); Professor Peter Lineham; and June Vallyon, President of Tauranga Branch of the TS with a keen interest in the Movement's history.
